KEEPERS OF THE KINGDOM

With great joy we announce the launch of Vacation Bible School – Keepers of the Kingdom, to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes this summer, the week of July 24th through July 28th. Rebecca Lancaster, Deacon David, Field Guide Velma and many other dedicated volunteers led us through a dynamic week last summer and we are thrilled to welcome them back again this year. Keepers of the Kingdom will help our children learn about the Armor of God (Ephesians 6) and how they can stand up for and create God’s Kingdom on Earth. Even if you aren’t one to turn in circles shouting for joy, there’s a place for you as we go about “Keeping the Kingdom”. Here are just a few things to know and consider:
To raise funds for the many expenses associated with Vacation Bible School, we invite you to a VBS Benefit Concert on Sunday, June 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Church. This will be a dynamic musical walk through Scripture as it points to our Messiah throughout the Old and New Testaments. Rebecca Lancaster will lead us vocally, and on piano, while Deacon David accompanies her on drums. Please tell your kids that Field Guide Velma will be making an appearance during Intermission!
All concert ticket proceeds will go toward Vacation Bible School and can be purchased online here or after Masses this weekend. Rebecca will join us at all Masses this weekend and will share one of her songs after Communion. Scripture is the best way to know God’s character and trust in His love for us. Vacation Bible School is a highly effective way for you to help share this message with kids of all ages. The week is sure to be packed with faith, joy, excitement, community, bonding AND by Friday, a bit of exhaustion. We need all hands on-deck from our entire Lourdes village!
